# S451

> S451 is open-source technology for the secure network interconnection of machines, devices and systems.

S451 is an IoT fleet-management platform built by M4SS, an Italian SME in Reggio Emilia writing free Rust software for security-critical sectors. Every device is onboarded through a cryptographic-challenge bootstrap and keeps a live two-way channel to the cloud, with A/B OTA updates and automatic rollback. The building blocks useful to the wider Rust and IIoT community are released as open source.
